Negli anni ottanta ricomparve a New York dove presenziava a diverse serate culturali mostrandosi a fianco di artisti come Andy Warhol. -)

- O Cedem, Centro de Documentação e Memória da Unesp, promoverá no dia 17 de setembro de 2015 - 5ª feira às 18h30, o cinedebate: “Yami no Ichinichi – o crime que abalou a colônia japonesa no Brasil (2012), de Mario Jun Okuhara. O filme retrata as graves violações de direitos humanos perpetradas contra a população japonesa no Brasil, durante a ditadura de Getúlio Vargas (1937-1945) e o governo constitucional de Eurico Gaspar Dutra (1946 a 1951). As restrições impostas pelo Estado brasileiro impediram qualquer forma de comunicação em língua japonesa. -
